FutureWise

Dealing with the challenges that the students meet

Future Wise is a programme that deals with the challenges that the students meet in the transitional period from primary to secondary education and throughout their remaining school life.

The programme can also support and underpin parts of the National curriculum, careers, PHSE, Citizenship, enterprise education and employer engagement.

The programme aims to develop

  • Responsibility– Considering thoughts and actions and consequences.
  • Empathy– being aware of other people’s feelings and how this can help you make friends and build relationships
  • Motivation- wanting to do something, completing tasks, setting goals, gaining job satisfaction.
  • Persistence- to try your best, not quitting at the first hurdle.
  • Positive attitudes- having a can do not a can’t do attitude.
  • Enterprise – being enterprising with your thoughts actions and your future.

Each section of the programme incorporates a number of topics that cover learning about you, about other people, first impressions, team work and enterprise.  All exercises involve interaction with other students; they all have a message but are still fun.
