Prince Charles described Barry in 2006 as “an inspiring business leader with drive” when he appointed him as his Ambassador for Business In The Community’s Eastern Region.

 

Barry has had more than 35 years experience (20 as a managing director), in the media world of newspapers, magazines, radio and the internet with Archant and Emap plc. At one time he was Emap’s youngest ever managing director.

 

He is now running his own business and media consultancy.

Barry is currently a Non Exec Director of the Norfolk & Waveney Mental Health NHS Foundation Trust and Pike Textile Display Ltd of Wisbech.

 

He is on the board of Norfolk Knowledge and the media committee for the charity Mobilise.
He is a panel member with BizFizz and does business consultancy for Future Radio, Norwich’s community radio station.

 

Some of his previous positions have been a member of the Norwich Economy Round Table; Member of the Advisory Board for Common Purpose in Norfolk; Member of the Business in the Community East of England Regional Leadership Team; Member of the Norwich Liveable City Advisory Board; Involvement with the BiTC Action on Homelessness in Norfolk project; Member of the Norfolk Policing Business Support Group; Associate Director Norwich City Football Club and a Member of the Advisory Board of Norfolk and Waveney Enterprise Services’ Inspiring Enterprise Project.
