Norwich's Fabcon Food Systems secure Greek contract
Chamber member, Norwich-based Fabcon Food Systems, has penned a deal with family-owned Greek firm Unismack, which has seen the local firm installing a high accuracy seasoning system at Unismack’s bakery facility in Kilkis, northern Greece.
The partnership has already been integral in supporting the Greek company’s UK launch of its new Wellaby’s ‘Simple Bakes’ line of gluten free snacks.
Trevor Howard, managing director of Fabcon, said: “Unismack has ambitious plans to develop its products and therefore wanted a top quality, cost-effective and reliable seasoning solution.
“In short, the new system we installed removes the need to add seasoning to raw dough batches before baking, which can lead to flavour loss in the finished product. Instead, seasoning can now be added continuously to any product, easily and effectively.
“It’s a big step forward for them and we were delighted to add our advice, experience and expertise to the project. With further expansion planned, we hope to work with Unismack even more in the years ahead as we continue to expand our customer base in Europe and beyond.”
Dimitrios Stratakis, managing director of Unismack, added: “We were very impressed by the professional way that Fabcon handled the contract from the initial enquiry through to the installation.
“We saw this equipment in use in the UK and the glowing testimony from other Fabcon customers convinced us we made the right choice. It’s another milestone for our company, especially as we look to make more inroads into the UK food sector.”
Founded in 2015, Fabcon Food Systems manufacture, supply and install innovative handling and processing equipment for the food industry. Designed and built at the company’s Norwich factory in Delta Close, Fabcon supply their systems and machinery to customers in the UK, mainland Europe, the Middle East, Australia and Africa.
The new range of Simple Bakes snacks from Unismack are free from most common allergens and contain no gluten, dairy, cholesterol, nuts, eggs, trans fats or genetically modified ingredients.
