Premier Travel in Dereham celebrates its most successful appeal for vulnerable children
Travel agents in Dereham celebrated one of their most successful Christmas appeals for vulnerable children.
Customers and local businesses helped Premier Travel, based in Church Street, collect 136 new toys for Action for Children, a charity which supports vulnerable youngsters and has a number of children’s centres across Norfolk. The charity delivered the presents to local children in time for Christmas.
Jo Peacock, Premier Travel branch manager said: “This year’s appeal has been our best yet and we are truly overwhelmed by the generosity of the Dereham community. We have loved seeing children getting involved by bringing in their own gifts and having an input in what their parents have donated. We want to say a big thank you to everyone who has helped make our appeal a success.”
Premier Travel's branches in Swaffham and Wymondham also took part in the appeal for the first time, collecting 25 and 57 toys for the charity.
Holly Canham, community fundraiser at Action for Children, said: “Action for Children would like to thank the hard work and dedication of Premier Travel and their customers in supporting us. These gifts will be donated to children’s centres across Norfolk, where we play an essential role in giving local children and families the early support they need.”
