Norfolk Community Foundation exists to make Norfolk a better place for everyone. We inspire philanthropy and believe that together we can change the world on our doorstep. Our strengths are leadership, knowledge and relationships. We are the local charity that is trusted to bridge the gap between those in need and those who can help.

An independent registered charity, we are part of a national movement of community foundations that manages funds for its donors, undertakes strategic grant making and contributes to achieving social change in the local area for the long term.

The Foundation was established in 2005 to develop financial support for the smaller charities and community groups who help those in need in Norfolk. From 60 grants to the value of £100,000 awarded by the end of 2007, our donors’ grant making now exceeds £25,000,000.

It is our role to continue to encourage and motivate individuals and organisations to give and link them to the local causes that they are interested in supporting. For some people it’s about supporting projects that improve the skills and aspirations for young people, for others, increasing access to community activities for those that are rurally isolated.

Our aspirational vision is to develop a platform for giving that everybody who loves Norfolk can be part of, whatever the level of their contribution. This can be through our Love Norfolk Fund (a fund that brings together donations of all sizes from which grants are delivered to a range of causes reflecting the current needs of our county, informed by the research that we undertake on a regular basis), by joining one of our collective giving membership schemes: The Norfolk 100 and Norfolk Future Fund, or through engaging with and developing the tools and information for professional advisors in relation to advising clients who are exploring charitable giving, either in their own lifetime or as part of a legacy or gift in a will.
